2. KNOW THE JOB DESCRIPTION OF AVAILABLE POSITION
– Decide why they should choose you (focus on your skills and special characteristics, not how desperate you are)
3. DRESS APPROPRIATELY
– Ask the HR contact or recruiter what would be appropriate
– Be neat and tidy (hair and nails clean, clothes ironed)
4. BE ON TIME
– At least 10 minutes early, use bathroom if necessary
5. EVERYONE MATTERS
– Be respectful to all people you encounter on your way to meeting room
6. CONFIDENCE AND POSITIVE ATTITUDE
– Visualise how you can make a difference and enter interview with confidence and positive attitude
7. MAKE YOUR MARK
– Make eye contact, smile and give firm handshake
8. AVOID NEGATIVE COMMENTING
– Don’t trash talk previous employers, rather focus on lessons learned and personal improvement through challenges experienced
9. ALLOW THEM TO LEAD THE INTERVIEW
– Never ask about money until they discuss it
– Have questions ready to ask at the end of the interview
10. SAYING YOUR GOODBYES
– If they haven’t offered the info, ask them when they expect to make a decision
– Indicate if you’re interested to receive an offer – Leave with a friendly greeting
